Joy to you!
I'm Jessica Noland, and I can't wait to share sixth grade with you. The
transition from fifth to sixth grade is a time of new discoveries for
both students and their families.Children are beginningto undergo
emotional, physical, and social changes that can often be confusing.
Their minds are riddled with anticipation - new teachers, new peer
groups, new opportunities, and new challenges. In sixth grade, we
support this transition through stability and consistency. Sixth
graders will begin to build on the foundation laid in elementary school
and prepare for the educational opportunities in their future. Our
sixth-grade classroom is a place where problem-solving and abstract
thinking skills come alive as we delve deeper into our studies and
relate them to the real world around us.
When I
am not teaching, you can find me doing such things as reading with my
book club, playing intramural sports like flag football and broomball,
snowboarding, hiking, biking, quilting, scrap booking, spending time
with my family, sailing with my husband, and relaxing with my three
cats. To learn more visit our classroom website at

Hi, my name
is Teri Hanson and I am
teaching 7th
and 8th grade math. I graduated from the College of St.
Catherine
in 2004 with both a math and Spanish emphasis in Education. This
is my
first year at Paideia, and I am very excited to be working in such a
great
school! Before Paideia, I taught at Rosemount Middle
School.
I have been teaching for 4 years now, and appreciate math more every
year! For those of you that have never celebrated Pi Day,
you’re in for a
treat! (It’s my favorite “holiday.”)
In my free
time, I like to travel. I have been to 15 different countries so
far and
would like to continue to see more of the world. I also enjoy
reading,
biking, camping, photography, and anything dealing with Harry
Potter. I
cannot wait to get to know all of you and hope to make this a great
year in
math class!
