 | Susan Sailors
My name is Susan Sailors, and I am very pleased to be teaching Classical Studies in the Upper Academy. In this class there is such a broad range of exciting things to learn – ancient history, mythology, traditional tales, logic, grammar, root word study, and yes, even Latin. These are all components of a Classical education and I am looking forward to exploring these subjects with our students.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Linguistics from the University of Michigan and my Masters degree is in Language and Literacy from National Louis University in Chicago. I have worked as a substitute teacher for Paideia in the past and I previously worked as an elementary teacher and reading specialist in Michigan. Additionally, I have many years of experience home schooling.
Paideia was the first choice in a school for my own family. All four of my children attend Paideia and I firmly believe in its mission and vision. This school is a wonderful learning community. Outside school, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, knitting, reading science fiction and playing Scrabble.
