 | 4th Grade
My name is Crystal Creighton, and I am one of the fourth grade classroom teachers. This is my second year at Paideia. I am enjoying the positive and friendly atmosphere at Paideia and am looking forward to a great year!
I graduated from Augsburg College with my degree in Elementary Education and a focus in Language Arts. I spent two years teaching in Chicago, public and parochial schools. I taught second grade, and then taught Title I Reading and Math with students in grades K-8. I am happy to be back in Minnesota and to be closer to my family and friends.
When it is warm I enjoy being outside, biking, camping, and hiking. On cold or rainy days you’ll probably find me curling up with a good book, or going to see a movie!
My name is Jayne Largent, and I am a part of the fourth grade team at Paideia Academy. I have been teaching for seven years at a Charter School in Minneapolis which used Core Knolwedge, and am looking forward to continuing working with that rigorous curriculum with the students here at Paideia. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education from Iowa State University and am pursuing a Masters of Science in Education in the area of School Counseling from the University of Wisconsin at River Falls. I am very excited to join the knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff of teachers here at Paideia.
I live in Burnsville with my husband Lee and our German Shepard, Kiera. I have many hobbies in addition to teaching. I enjoy being outdoors and doing activities such as biking, kayaking, playing softball and waterskiing. I also enjoy listening to a variety of music, reading, and watching movies.
My name is Jennifer Rothstein and I have an Elementary Education degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead. I am excited to return to school this fall for a master’s degree in Literacy Education and a K-12 Reading Certificate through St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. I have been teaching full-time since 2003. I have taught kindergarten and first grade in Fayetteville, North Carolina and second grade for the last five years here at Paideia. I have been lucky enough to have been here from the opening of the school.
I am excited and privileged to be working at a school that has such high expectations of its students! I love teaching reading and will get to assist many classrooms in their literacy instruction this year. I will be the special education teacher for fourth grade as well as the mentor teacher for new teachers to Paideia. I am looking forward to this new challenge and will help in any way I can to make the transition as smooth as possible.
I currently live in Eagan with my husband. During the summer I play a lot of softball, and throughout the winter I play volleyball. I love reading, playing the piano and flute, and baking yummy goodies for my family and friends.
My name is Mindy Hendrickson, I am excited to be working again with students. I will be directly supporting the strongest math students, and I will join the 4th grade team for some time each day as their Co-Teacher. Co-Teaching provides three teachers between two classroom working together to address each student’s academic strengths and struggles.
I will continue as the Gifted/Talented Resource Teacher for Paideia Academy. I am pleased to work with teachers, families and students at Paideia to support gifted and talented instruction at the school.
I bring with me twenty years of educational experience including interdisciplinary education, arts integration, Gifted/Talented services, and differentiating curriculum and instruction. I have worked with teachers in Minneapolis Public Schools to identify gifted/talented students and to meet the needs of these students with supportive curriculum, instruction and services.
My husband Dave and I both enjoy creating and sharing. I am a storyteller, an actor, and an evaluation/education volunteer for Cornerstone, a center for prevention of domestic abuse in Bloomington. Dave is an IT Consultant, a Project Manager and serves on the Board of Governors for the Technology Management Council of IEEE. Our two children are dancing and singing engineers as they work on all sorts of “technology projects” in our home in Bloomington.
